Climate crackdown: capitalism at work

I've been following the developments in Copenhagen on Democracy Now! but not as well as I should be. From what I've gleamed the rich nations, including the U.S. and Canada, have controlled the talks and have pushed forward plans for a much weaker agreement than that of even Kyoto. Obama's emission targets have been laughable, amounting to a reduction of 4% of 1990 levels by 2020.
